Barbara Zager, Psy.D.
Barbara Zager, Psy.D. of Thriving Center of Psychology is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in issues related to depression, anxiety, and trauma. She believes the story you tell about yourself greatly influences the way you think about your future. Conceptualizing your life in an organized systematic way with a therapist can be a means to better understand how life experiences have impacted your life. By making the unconscious conscious and examining habitual thought patterns you are empowered to make different choices. Dr. Zager’s therapeutic approach is evidenced-based and she has been trained in various modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She uses an eclectic, individualized and results-oriented approach tailored to her client’s unique needs. Dr. Zager received her master's and doctorate degrees in psychology, from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and her undergraduate degree in psychology from California State University, Long Beach. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Zager has worked at various inpatient and outpatient facilities and has taught psychiatry residents at Charles Drew Medical University.
