Johanna Terry, Psy.D.
Dr. Johanna Terry received her Doctorate in Combined School and Clinical Psychology from Kean University. In the past, she has worked with individuals, couples, and groups in a variety of settings including hospitals, college counseling centers, outpatient clinics, schools, and community-based care. Dr. Terry specializes in working with adolescents, adults, and couples presenting with a variety of disorders including anxiety disorders, depression, relationship problems, and trauma-related disorders.
Dr. Terry’s approach to therapy is to create a warm and compassionate environment and use the latest evidence-based practices to foster greater self-awareness and growth in individuals/couples with richly diverse backgrounds. She primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to guide her approach, but also incorporates other evidence-based practices when necessary, including cognitive-behavioral approaches, mindfulness, and the Gottman Method.
